The Intersec in Dubai is a leading show in the security industry in the Middle East region.The newest addition to our vehicle identification product line, the TRANSIT UHF reader, was displayed. Characterized by unique performance and attractive pricing, the new reader represents long range within reach! An excellent performance of 4 meters is achieved in combination with passive tags. The reader is fully compatible to any wiegand installation, allowing for easy upgrade of prox installs for vehicle access. Nedap AVI has managed to increase the battery lifetime of the Window Button, Window Button Switch and Heavy Duty Tag ISO up to 10 years. The new expected battery lifetime is based on average warm climate conditions. The upgrade battery lifetime of the products is effective immediately.

Nedap introduces the TRANSIT Edge reader, a complete stand alone long range vehicle access solution. Groenlo, March 2009 Nedap introduces the TRANSIT Edge reader, which has been developed to meet the increasing need for an integrated perimeter access solution. The TRANSIT Edge offers quick, easy, cost efficient and long range vehicle access to a wide range of facilities. The TRANSIT Edge is a complete stand alone long range vehicle access solution which does not require anything more than web browsed access to the reader. There is no software to install because the TRANSIT Edge is using the HID Edgo Solo technology. This way you can control all access profiles and event logs that are contained right at the reader level at each gat. The system can authorize up to 1.000 tag holders. The TRANSIT Edge reader is a long range reader that can identify vehicles up to a distance of 10 meters [33 ft]. The system is made up of a TRANSIT Edge reader and a tag. The reader is installed facing the direction where the vehicle needs to be identified. A long range tag visible in line of sight of the reader will be identified and depending on authorization the access is granted. The TRANSIT Edge has great benefits, especially in situations where a stand alone long range vehicle access solution is required without complex installatiopn.
